No. This program provides educational information and strategic guidance to help parents understand the special education process and advocate effectively for their child. It does not create an attorney-client relationship, and it is not a substitute for individualized legal representation. However, the strategies and frameworks shared inside are informed by my experience as both a former special education teacher and special education attorney â and are designed to help you navigate IEP meetings with clarity, confidence, and strategy.
Thatâs completely normal.
Most parents donât want conflict â they want collaboration. And advocating for your child does not mean being aggressive or confrontational.
Inside this program, youâll learn how to communicate strategically and professionally â how to ask the right questions, document effectively, and protect your childâs rights without escalating tension unnecessarily.
The goal isnât to âfightâ the school.
Itâs to advocate clearly, confidently, and calmly.
When you understand the process and your leverage, fear is replaced with clarity.
No. Joining this program does not create an attorney-client relationship. This is an educational program designed to help you understand the special education process and advocate effectively for your child.
If you need individualized legal representation, you should consult an attorney licensed in your state.
Thatâs perfectly okay. This program is educational and does not replace legal representation.
Many parents join because they want to better understand the process, feel less overwhelmed, and be an active, informed participant in decisions affecting their child.
Having knowledge and strategy makes you a stronger advocate â whether youâre working alongside an attorney or navigating things independently.
No. Special Education Advocates and Attorneys will learn a great deal from this program.
No. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Winkelman v. Parma City School District (2007) that parents do not need to be represented by lawyers to take their school districts to due process hearings. Having a lawyer represent you is an advantage, of course, but many times lawyers lose these cases -- and you still pay them whether you win or lose.
No. You do not even need to be a high school graduate. If reading is difficult, use built-in text to speech capabilities in your computer to assist you. (You may also want to apply what you learn in Module 2 for yourself.). This class shows you how to use speech to text capabilities to create and edit written documents step-by-step.
No. The class will be easier to understand for native English speakers, but you can use Google translate and similar services to understand the class, albeit at a slower rate. Michelle knows Spanish and American Sign Language so she can do the group coaching calls in those languages, as well.
No. You will learn about the federal Special Education law that applies to every State and territory in the United States of America. The class explains variations among the States and gives you resources to figure out what laws and rules apply in your jurisdiction.
Many countries around the world have similar laws and you may find this content useful to help you better understand the laws where you live.
Also, Module 2 explains crucial content and provides resources that can help you find specialists for your struggling child, regardless of whether you live in the USA or any other country.
No. As long as the curriculum is hosted and available on www.systeme.io, your login credentials will never expire. Your access to the Skool community also never expires.
No. Just as no lawyer can or should ever promise you a "win," no online program can guarantee success, either. However, you will be in a much better position to obtain the result you seek with additional skills and support you will receive from this program.
Finally, a question that cannot be answered with, "Yes" or "No!"
Different people work at different speeds. Every situation is unique. The benefit of flexible, self-paced learning is that you can fit it in around the other demands in your life.
The earlier Modules take less time to complete. Later Module activities will take more time to complete, but they help prepare you to actually file and pursue State complaints & due process hearings.
Students have had full-time jobs and parental responsibilities. Yet they found a way to complete the program. You will, too. If you stay on pace with the group coaching calls, you will finish in 4 months or less.
Yes, but only ifâŚ
You fully participate in the four-month program â including the curriculum and weekly coaching calls â
and honestly believe you did not learn anything new.
If that happens, we will refund every penny.
(P.S. It hasn't happened yet!)
